Advice please: renting with pets

I shall be moving to Glasgow in December and have starting looking at flats to rent in the Hyndland Road area.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of property to rent (looking to pay up to £700 p/m) and what is available won't take a cat.
I've tried RightMove, Zoopla, Citylets and Gumtree - any suggestions where else I can look?
Thanks

have you actually asked the agents as sometimes LL will let you have one cat even though the advert says none. Offer a higher deposit.
Have you googled let's with pets I am sure there is a website that is specifically for those with pets.0 -

Yes I've asked the agents and they've all come back and said no. I'm now concentrating on unfurnished properties but still no joy
I've looked at the website but it only gives advice0 -
Visit the agents so that they can assess you in person.
We had two cats and two ferrets, but once we proved to the the LAs that we were presentable and willing to stump up extra deposit, there were plenty of potential houses to choose from. One of them even had a cat flap, though all that agents' ads read 'no pets.'0 -

I have let to a couple with a cat though I don't usually. I got on well with them and they put a catflap into a door panel and replaced it when they left. They were excellent tenants just like you!0 -

Unfurnished properties might be the better option as many landlords will worry about cats clawing their furniture.
We have rented with a cat and I agree with the previous answer.
The no pets clause is often written into the tenancy agreement but on asking many landlords will agree to a single cat.
Ours didn't want an extra deposit but a good idea to offer one.0 -
Thanks for all the advice.
As I live in London it's difficult to visit the agents as they're closed on Saturdays.
Fingers crossed I'll find something.0 -

It could be worth you taking some leave and going to look and talk. How are you going to rent any where without seeing it?
The only time I agreed a let to SI done who had their friend check out the property there were issues all the way through the tenancy. I would now insist that the renter sees the property!0 -

I trust my friend completely. I'm looking at this as a six to twelve month rental as if it all works out I will buy a flat.0 -
Look a bit further out than that.0
