Cheap Energy Club & Switching...
Two days ago (19/10/13) i used MSE Cheap Energy Club & opted for a switch to edf energy from british gas.
My current gas & elec tariff runs out on Nov 30th 2013 and i am concerned that edf are going to receive this request via MSE Cheap Energy Club and perform the switch before my tariff runs out with BG & therefore i will get a charge for leaving my current 'Online Variable tariff' with BG before expiry on 30/11/13.
Question is does MSE Cheap Energy Club inform my newly chosen supplier i am not good to have the switch before & in this case 30/11/13 so as i don't incur the £60 per fuel early exit charges.
Thanks.

I have the same issue with CEC regarding a switch I did last week to NPower, I've heard nothing and I'm wondering if the stall is because of today's NPower price hike.
If you go onto the CEC site you can contact them directly, I'm still waiting for a reply from this morning.0 -

It shouldn't take longer than 5 weeks nowadays to switch supplier so I reckon you are on a sure bet to incur early exit fees.
If you don't want to pay them, be sure to take advantage of the cooling off period and cancel your application.

I tried to use it today, but it would not accept my sort code or bank account flashed up red, so I gave up, but I have now found out I could not have switched anyway because I am de-energised, and writing this from a dimension in time that does not require electricity:D0

On their website EDF say:From the day you agree the contract you get a 12-day cooling off period, during which time you are able to cancel, should you change your mind.
After the 12-day cooling off period, your supply could take up to 3 weeks to transfer to us.
P.s. I too am on a fixed-term with BG (runs out end Nov). Am hoping to switch to EDF. Will incur a £40 exit fee from BG, but no biggie.0 -
lol ..it didnt accept your bank details cause you hung about too long in entering them, this happened to me initially.0

Hi, when you say you can contact them directly from the CEC site do you mean the new proposed supplier? Is this the tel number given when you look at your CEC page where it shows your proposed switch or are you referring to some other contact info/area?I have the same issue with CEC regarding a switch I did last week to NPower, I've heard nothing and I'm wondering if the stall is because of today's NPower price hike.

Did you hear back from nPower? I also signed up for the switch prior to nPower announcing the price hike, and haven't heard a thing about my swich. The CEC says my switch is in progress but I can't see any further details online about what's happening. I hope they stand by their Price Fix tariff quoted when I signed up!!I have the same issue with CEC regarding a switch I did last week to NPower, I've heard nothing and I'm wondering if the stall is because of today's NPower price hike.
