Car Insurance- adding new driver

My insurance is due for renewal on 1 Nov. Current company refused to insure my daughter (age 18) as either a learner or new driver so she has learned through driving lessons only, and sits her test at the end of November.
I'm currently getting quotes, just for me as there's no point adding her until she passes.
What's the simplest way to find a company who will allow me to insure her on my car after she passes. (It's a 1600cc so won't be cheap to do) There's a chance we may buy her a small 999cc car of her own and I've been told this may work out cheaper (adding me as a named driver) in which case which are the best companies for new drivers?
Please advise, I don't really know where to start and would rather not spend hours on the phone to dozens of different companies if at all possible. Thanks.

You need to phone and ask your chosen insurer if they will take her on.
Or talk to a local broker (not swinton).
Whatever you do, try and get agreement to add her after she has passed before you buy a policy, as many don't like novices with a full licence, but are happy to insure novices who are learning.0 -
Thanks, Quentin, I'll get a couple of good quotes for me then ring them up before purchasing.0

Hi katchm99
I was in an almost identical situation to you. I used the comparison sites and 'pretended' that my 17 year old daughter had just passed her test - and I got quotes including her as a named driver on this basis.
So I knew which insurers would accept a newly qualified 17 year old. I then removed my daughter, to actually buy the policy. Then I added her as a named driver when she really did pass her test.
All worked fine for me.
(The standard advice is to use a 'dummy' name etc, when testing out the comparison sites in this way.)0 -
Thanks, I'll try that. Sounds like a good starting point.0
