AMEX to stop paying cashback under £25

Is this older card one that has a £25 fee? Or did the fee not exist in the pre-2009 ones. Any cashback less than £25 would be wiped out anyway on the current Platinum card. I assume that's why they've made the change?Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)
Savings target June 18 - £22,281.99 / £25,0000 -

I applied for mine around 2000 and there was no fee (and so far never has been).0 -

this is true. but the thing to do is spend enough to earn much more than that....for less than £25/yr it's hardly worth bothering with anyway. i had £1k+ out of them last year:A.0 -
& yeah, my card is no fee. and top tier is 1.5%. and have had a 'booster' on top of that at times.0

Just to confirm my confusion ...
I have today received the letter from Amex stating that 'We're writing to advise you that from 1 March 2014 you will only receive your anual cashback if the amount of cashback earned in your Membership year is at least £25'.
Meanwhile the monthly statement for my (no fee Platinum Cashback) card that came yesterday clearly states under the 'Cashback terms and conditions' that.. 'Please note no rebate payment will be made if, in the 12 months preceding your Card anniversary Date, the amount of rebate earned totals less than £25'.0 -
Same here, I have the original platimum cashback card with a top cashback tier of 1.5%. They introduced the £25 minimum a few years ago and it's written on my statements but I still got a letter announcing this change.
They also wrote recently encouraging me to swap over to the current version with £25 fee but I'm sticking with the orginal no-fee version.0 -
so am i.
i think us 1.5% 'members' always had the £25 minimum, didn't we?0
