food poisioning or coincedence

we went to haven primrose valley 4 adults two ate from the fish and chip shop 2 ate else where,
the 2 that had fish and chips were violently ill vomiting etc the other 2 were perfectly fine.
we had to leave early as we were too ill to stay we complained and got told it was a coincidence that we were ill no offer of any compensation, do i let it drop or push for some kind of offer ? our doctor said it was food poisoning as the other two whom we shared with were fine and normally bugs go through like wildfire advice be gratefully accepted.
