    School education is incorrect in various ways as a way of simplifying things. They'll get to photos later on in Physics

    No they don't and I find it sad that a parent would be coming to a such a forum to find the answer to homework questions. As you said OP, the point of the homework IS to do research. Doing it for him is taking away from him the chance to learn this skills and learn to do it quickly.

    The fact your son doesn't want to do homework is a discipline matter. You don't need to know the answers. If he hasn't done it yet, it is because the teacher wants him to research, and they will then go over it and he can then check if he got the answers right.
