My baby girl who is 16 has been ill over the past week and I think that when we take her to the vet this evening she will be PTS.
She has been the most delightful loving cat ever and DH and I are heartbroken. I Neither of us can get any time off work today and we left her snuggled under the duvet as we went out this morning.
She has CRF and ended up having to have an enema under sedation on Thursday despite us struggling for a week giving her lactulose. She was so traumatised when we got her back that I sish we had never done it but the vet said that she deserved a chance.
I am sitting at my desk howling and just want to be home with her but I have a work critical deadline to meet.
I have no idea why I even posted

I can't do anything other than offer big virtual hugs. Hopefully when you get home your little fur baby will be much better.MFiT challenge #60

Really feel for you - myself, would go home, sod the deadlines. Deadlines will still be there when you get back.
What kind of boss sees you in this state and does not tell you to go home?
Big hugs xxx0 -
(((Hugs))) I'm sorry, it's always an awful situation to be in.0

Have nothing useful to say except I'm so sorry for your baby girl, you and your hubby. If my Ted was in that situation I'd be howling too. My heart goes out to you all.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

Thanks all. I will be going home a couple of hours early. I so desperately want her to have perked up. DH says that if we had gone through what she has the past few days we would be weak and unwell looking also and we should wait and see but in my heart I know the outcome.0

If the vet said on Thursday that she deserved a chance hopefully she is just feeling down after her procedure

Oh, big hugs!!!
Here's hoping she's perked up, I have my fingers and toes crossed for you!I have a simple philosophy:
Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where it itches.

Hoping your cat feels a little better this evening ? We had a poorly cat earlier this year and we knew he wouldn't get better . Looking back , it was a horrible time . We knew the time had come to say goodbye and I'd posted on here what was happening . The replies I got were very kind , understanding and helpful .We did everything we could for him and he had a good life .It didn't stop us being heartbroken at his loss but it did help knowing we did all we could . This is the hardest and most painful part of having pets . Sending kind thoughts to you and the cat you love .0

Keeping you, your husband and your baby girl in my thoughts, I hope she has perked up and was just feeling a little under the weather x0

My baby was pts at home at 6pm this evening. We are heartbroken and I can barely type for tears.
It was peaceful and dignified and took p;lace with DH and I holding her and telling her how much she was loved. The vet and nurse were lovely and I am so glad that I insisted on having it done at home.
We thought she had picked up a bit ahd used her tray, had a drink and lapped at the spring water from a tin of tuna. Then she started vomiting and pooing when she retched. She was so incredibly weak looking and the light had gone from her eyes.
I will miss my Mudgekin so much0
