I have scoured and scoured the internet looking for a suitable place but dont know where else to look and need some help off you lovely people :-)

Its my sister in law's 30th birthday in december and she would like to go away to a lodge / cottage or apartment type place. Anywhere really that would accomodate 8 people.
She would like it to be in distance of either a shopping centre / village / markets - somewhere to do a spot of christmas shopping.

can anyone recommend anywhere they have been before etc? I was trying to maybe look at Chester / York type area but cant come up with anything - maybe im looking in the wrong places? We live in the North West so nothing thats going to take hours and hours travel - 3/4 hours max.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

edited - there is now only 6 of us and she definately wants somewhere with lots of things to do i.e. pubs, activities, shopping etc so ideally near chester / york - or if anyone else knows of any places which have those?? thanks x

Hi rubysmummy, I've booked to go to Ribby Hall Village near Blackpool next monthm I've not been before so I don't know what its like yet, but they have villa/lodge type accomodation so might fit what you are looking for. And its not too far from you! the tripadvisor reviews are all good anyway :)

I cant post links as a new-ish member though, sorry!
