They are both good and often good value too. Copthorne is closer to town but very little in it.

I've stayed at the Copthorne and it was very nice and good value for money (got it from Late Rooms).

Stayed at Copthorne and it's nice, particularly if you can get rooms overlooking the marina. Holiday Inn is only a couple of minutes walk from the Copthorne. Tram station is a couple of minutes from the Copthorne as well.

There's a cinema and the Lowry less than 10 minutes away if you want something to do in the evening and don't want to stay in the town centre. Lowry outlet is pretty rubbish for shopping, though not been in for a few months. Old Trafford if you are into football is a 10 minute walk away.

I work on Salford Quays, shout out if I can be of any help.

I've stayed at the Premier Inn at Salford Quays - it was fine. Same as all Premier Inns but with the advantage of a view of water. Pizza Express, Cafe Rouge and the Lowry Theatre within a 5 min walk.

Don't miss breakfast. If you have booked room only they sometimes have a half price breakfast offer when you check in
