Cheapest deep 10mm spark plug sockets & 22mm sockets? (Alternatives to Halfords?)
I have a 10mm spark plug socket, but annoyingly it doesn't appear to be deep enough to actually grab the plugs.
My immediate thoughts turn to Halfords after which my next thought is they're very expensive.
Have looked online but either postage is relatively pricey or they're sold as part of a big set I don't need.
Thanks in advance.

hi. have you tried pushing it on hard, the rubber may be hard if its new, try taking the little piece of rubber out.
on the other hand. signet do very good quality tools. you can get them from ebay.0 -
try to resist buying cheap tools, they have a high plastasine content. buy a good one and it will last a life time.0

Locate an independant tool shop. Failing that, toolstation or machine mart are OK. Halfords are expensive.Happy chappy0

some info not specific to this thread - not sure if it is the case now but most of halfords sockets sets etc carry a lifetime warranty and if you can pick them up cheap in a sale, its worth it. We bought some a couple of years ago and two of the spanners in the spanner set started to get a bit corroded. We took them back and they replaced the whole spanner set even though we had used all of them (oil and grease marks all over them etc).If you found my comment helpful, please click the 'Thanks' button below :T0

The last deep throated socket I bought from Snap On cost £7 for a 13mm and that was 15 years ago. I hate to think what they are now.0 -
In the end I went for this http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=10651&langId=-1&searchTerms=7000065&go.x=0&go.y=0 a 73 piece socket set supposedly used to be £49.79, currently £19.89 as it had all the parts I needed plus some more. The cost of the bits I wanted + a 1/2" drive ratchet handle would have nearly come to this price anyway. It's not like I'll be using them very often so they should last me a while even if they are crap quality.
Just need the rain to go away now. Forecast rain for the next five days0 -
I bought a similar (http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7000450.htm) set before christmas when they had the same offer, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality feel of them. Still to use them yet though...0
