Natwest Student Account

My current account was changed to a Natwest student account when I started University in 2006. They offered an overdraft that went up each year, then when you graduated you had a year interest free, then for the following three years the interest free overdraft would reduce. (1000, 500, 100 I think?)
When I opened the account it was with the intention of doing the 3 year course.
My degree turned into a 4 year course (including 1 year professional experience during year 3).
When I graduated (after the 4 years, not 3) I went into a branch and told them, they copied my degree certificate and results letter, and said it would have to be dealt with at a central head office? Nothing happened.
Basically, I have been charged interest on my overdraft for the last 3 years, as if I had finished my degree in Aug 2009, not Aug 2010.
Is it possible for me to reclaim any over-charged interest i've paid since then? What information will I need exactly to get this? I've read the main site article, but my case differs slightly to the advice there.
I am currently looking at switching my account to get the Halifax or FD offers. Does Halifax still offer 0% for 6 months? couldn't find on the website. I'm out of my OD now, but I like something to fall back on.
