False CCJ on my credit report.

I just did a random check on my credit score over the weekend as I'm just getting ready to look into applying for a mortgage, and friends thought I should check my score as I very rarely use my credit cards. To find to my horror that in 2012 a CCJ was lodged against me and then three months later it was satisfied.

I followed the thread of Trust online who provided the information and I paid for a search of me, and details came back with my full name and a very old address I lived at.

I don't owe any money and have no idea what this is. I have a faultless history when it comes to credit. I don't agree with debt and very rarely even use a credit card.

I have always been on the electoral role and so I fail to see how this is at an old address that I wasn't living at the time the judgement was raised .

It oddly hasn't affected my credit score, which has come back as 999, which seems a bit bizarre.

Does anyone have any advice. All the information I read doesn't really cover my circumstances. The best I can find is to apply for the judgement to be "set aside" however, this is, from what I read judgements that are being contested for payment. However, this one against me has been recorded as paid. But I know nothing about it.

I (without any evidence) suspect malicious action from an Ex boyfriend, as the timing of the case was raised was shortly after we split up. I don't owe him any money, but he knows how strongly I feel about debt.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Very odd.

If you call the court, they should be able you give you claimant details.

Was in Northampton? They are the bulk processing centre for the banks etc.

Not odd at all - just more proof that the CRA scores are just a random number that aren't worth the paper they are written on.

cra score...999 and ccj = perfect
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Yes: contact the court for further information.

It does look as if the procedure has been abused maliciously, which could be a criminal matter. Standard processes are unlikely to much use in such an unusual situation.

If that's the only address the creditor has for you then that's the address the papers are served at. Responsibility lies with the borrower to update address records.
