Cannot buy Amazon MP3 downloads

Not sure if this is the right forum but I'm thinking it's possibly a technical issue so I'm posting it here for a start. I'm in the UK, with a UK billing and shipping address. Yet, when I try to buy a MP3 for download on AmazonUK I get the message:

"We could not process your order. The sale of MP3 Downloads is currently only available to UK customers."

Any idea what the problem is? I'm not using a proxy server or anything like that.

Make sure you are visiting amazon.CO.UK and not .COM (they are 2 different sites.)

Do you have any plugin's on your browser to change your location?

That's what I was wondering, quick way to check is to go to google.com and see which regional version you get.

I'm on Amazon.co.uk with an account opened on that site. No plugins to change locations or routings through other countries that I'm aware of. It's my home PC and google.com directs me to google.co.uk. Only thing I can think of is that when I opened my AmazonUK account many many years ago I was living in Scandinavia although it seems odd to me that should matter since my shipping and billing address is in the UK and have been for almost a decade now. I've also managed to purchase MP3 files on my account before from my computer at work so that suggests it's something to do with my home connection/computer. Guess I will have to contact Amazon about it.

Check the Regional Settings on your home computer? (Maybe the Amazon site is picking something up via the browser headers and this is making them think you're outside the UK).

Windows 7 lists my location as United Kingdom. Not sure how to check regional settings in my browser (Firefox) but just tried buying through Explorer and I get the same error message from Amazon. It's all very odd.

PC time and date is OK? (Clutching at straws).

    Who is your ISP?

Time and date is correct. ISP is Virgin.

Try something like http://www.whatismyip.com/ ... where does it think you are located? If it doesn't say UK then either Amazon have a duff IP address database, or Virgin have some wild and woolly routing going on.

On that basis, open a Command prompt (cmd) and type in tracert amazon.co.uk - copy and paste the result into this thread.
