Thankfully the cot is long gone after I ensured Barratts seen the damage. The cot was directly under and beside the area where the readings were significantly high.

We have put the new bed in a different position and away from walls. We will be buying a dehumidifier soon.

As OP said, not sure if it was a genuine question or one of the self righteous pouncers. Recent experience makes me think it is the latter, unfortunately.
