Travel planning tools

Hi!

I'm hoping that someone here might be able to help. I'm planning a trip to South America early next year, and I'm looking for a reliable free travel planning tool which will allow me to build a clear itinerary, fitting in various types of information. I'll be crossing borders and traveling by several types of transport. Any advice grateful accepted!

I use an excel spreadsheet that I tailor to my own requirements - has the advantage of being free but does require a bit of work.

Reusing the last one does save at least some reformatting over starting from scratch
