Hello all. Just looking for some advice. This is the second time this has happened. When using the comps forums a pop-up appears in the middle of the screen & it says something like... 'paulirish.com>css>hacking' or something like that.
There is no 'X' to close the window & I can't get rid of it without holding down the power button & shutting the whole thing down. Does anyone know anything about this or what it is doing?
I am using Google Chrome & a Macbook.
Any help would be appreciated.
Claire.

run (or install then run) malwarebytes antimalware, ensure up to date before scanning. this should help ID any dodgy nonsense.
make sure you uncheck any "free trial" boxes whilst installing of course!Friendly greeting!0 -
Thought that on a Mac Cmd+Opt+Esc allowed you to kill an application
Does Malwarebytes run on a Mac?0 -

No I don't which is rather naive of me. Does it sound like a virus to you?2014 Challenge...

If this only appens there, you should ask a board admin in comping about it.
If it happens at other times, it could be something dodgy but nothing that's been reported generally, as far as I could determine in 30 seconds.
An antivirus isn't a bad idea imho but it's your choice. A small price to pay for greater peace of mind I say :-)Friendly greeting!0 -
Alt+F4 equivalent is Command+W or Command+Q?0
