Cheap Travel Insurance for Retired

Hi,
Anyone know of cheap travel insurance for a 66 year old with no medical complaints and healthy, wanting cover for a 37 day visit to Canada.
Cheapest I've found so far is £62.42 for a single trip (39 days inc travel days)......or Annual Multi for £81.93 but restricted to 31 days per trip.
The AA also have a Multi Trip quote for £120.71 for multi trips of 45 day visit lengths.
I usually travel twice a year.
Do you think any of these are a good buy or can I do better?
Thanks.

have you tried insure and go? My last annual insurance policy with them allowed for trips up to 45 days and cost about £64 with an excess waiver but that was two years ago and I'm in a younger age bracket0

StaySure?
Avanti?
If you've checked those I don't know what else.0 -
Thankyou for your replies. I tried quotes with Avanti and Staysure, but they are much the same. £125 and £130 respectively for the same multi trip cover.
Saga quoted £129 for multi.
AA quoted £124.
It will be between Saga and the AA when I can phone them tomorrow, as I don't understand why the exclusion if I use air miles at any time.
Thanks again.0 -
Most policies exclude any cover for flights etc booked with air miles and similar on the grounds it hasn't cost you anything - ie it was a freebie. (OK you might quibble about that....)
The rest of the holiday should still be covered0 -
Why don't you consider Travel Insurance with a Current Account. I pay £10/month for worldwide cover for the family with the Halifax and include many other valuable extras. Excellent service when I made a claim, no hassle and paid up within 10 days.0

My Direct Line annual policy says:
"If you booked your flight with Air Miles we will pay for the cost of an equivalent flight that you must take within three months from the date of loss. Please note that if we agree to settle your claim, we will send you a cheque and you, not us, will be responsible for booking or arranging the new flight."
In fact when we had to cancel a trip due to illness BA refunded our miles in return for a small fee.0 -
Have you tried Avanti? maybe worth a look? they have a good website0

He/she did say they tried Avantitravelover0

You could ask Nationwide's insuerers how much it costs to upgrade the free travel insurance they offer on the Flex current account. I believe European to Worldwide costs £20 pa. If extending the 31 day trip limit costs the same that could be a cheap option.0
