Get a clue pal. You really think the people on the phones (me being one) make the rules? many companies require 30 days notice to cancel some dont....bt require 2 weeks....crazy isnt it! if Skys that bad you shouldnt of been with them in the first place...let alone agreed to their contracts! You try staring at a screen for 10 hours a day for 12k and you find the incentive to recognise your butthole from ur elbow!!!
Wow, I really touched a raw nerve there didn't I! Firstly, do you know what a monopoly is? Well your wonderful employer pretty much has one which means people have little choice but to use them, regardless of how bad they are. Oh wait, I could switch to Virgin? Oh no I couldn't because your greedy employer wanted too much money to sell their main channel, silly me.
Many companies require 30 days, yes, but I don't know of any other company where they provide different services and have different termination periods for each one! That's the crazy part.
The part about not knowing body parts was a reference to poor training programmes on your employers part, not a direct hit on the telephonists so you might want to brush that chip from your shoulder.
If you are working 10 hours a day for 12K and have such a problem with it, maybe you should be looking for employment elsewhere instead of coming on here asking people to get a clue.0 -

Well said.
I used to work in a call centre , again , 10 hr shifts for £12k a year .
Last thing i wanted was some f**kwit moaning at me because of my companys policys and procedures.
Most of which are clearly stated in the small print on the contract you sign (which became apparent 99% of people dont read) , and then take it out on the Call Centre Agent when they want to quit the service , but realise what they are tied into.James thinks worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere
If i help you...Please thank me! :beer:0 -
For the record (not that I have to justify myself to anyone but quite clearly there are some people who are a little on edge so here goes) I was very nice to the guy I spoke to on the phone. He kindly went away to find out why the same company has 2 termination periods for different services and came back saying he didn't understand why but that is how it is.
Perhaps you need a profound disrespect for your customers to work in a call centre if you refer to them as "f**kwits". Maybe a customer-facing role is not the place for you...
And what happened to the customer always being right? If there were no customers you wouldn't be able to earn your 12K per year. I will end this here as I think this thread has already been hijacked enough and taken off topic so apologies to horacewimp for that.
In the words of Dragons Den, I'm Out...:A0 -
I've got freeview built in to my tv. Maybe its just a weak signal.
I've also got sky 2mix package, what are the chances of gettin skysports news activated even tho I'm not on the knowledge mix? Seems a bit silly that its available for free to non sky packages but not for sky customers!!0
