I don't think we're going to convince knightstyle that's how the Halifax Clarity card works with respect to cash advances (but thanks for helping me try!).It's pointless paying off cash advances straight away if you've got an outstanding balance on your previous statement. To stop interest accruing on cash advances made since the last statement, the entire balance of the last statement needs to be paid off first.

I guess the way he's doing it is better than just leaving it all to the DD, since then you'd pay between 25 and 56 days interest on the cash advances rather than between 0 and 25.YorkshireBoy wrote: »I don't think we're going to convince knightstyle that's how the Halifax Clarity card works with respect to cash advances (but thanks for helping me try!).
For the likes of the OP on (presumably) a long holiday it'd be an idea to get a current account with the likes of Metrobank or N&P who both offer debit cards with no foreign charges I believe...and use these for ATM withdrawals rather than the Clarity.0 -
I agree (but with backups of course). In fact I'll be opening a Metrobank account myself when I'm in London in a few weeks time. For the likes of the OP on (presumably) a long holiday it'd be an idea to get a current account with the likes of Metrobank or N&P who both offer debit cards with no foreign charges I believe...and use these for ATM withdrawals rather than the Clarity.0
