After many years I'm leaving good old AOL and was wondering which email program to use?
I have Outlook 2000 and Outlook Express on my computer but never used. Also someone has recommended Thunderbird to me.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
PS title should say thunderbird!

After years of managing very well with outlook express I got sick to death of Windows messenger opening automatically and downloaded Thunderbird! It has some good features including an automatic junk mail control, plus no windows messenger!!!0

Thunderbird has a great search/filter feature. Type the sender's name or the subject in to a box, and your inbox filters to that instantly. It's so simple, but Outlook just can't match it - it's search runs slowly, and in a different window. I use Thunderbird for that feature alone.
Why not just sign up to gmail though? The webmail interface is almost as good as any desktop software, and it's always available anywhere.0 -

I had wondered about gmail (now googlemail) but was slightly put off after reading about concerns about what google may do in the future with all the info stored from peoples' emails alongside their searching habits (if you see what I mean).0
