buying a phone in a private sale

i may be buying an iphone privately,and it has to be posted from aberdeen,is there a way i could buy it that would protect both buyer and seller.i know paypal protects e-bay purchases but not sure about anything else.

    As long as your willing to lose the money then go ahead.

    So many scams for phones. Paypal protects purchases for goods.

    So if the item is listed as an iphone and the invoice specify's that then you get 45 days cover.

    Nothing stopping them reporting the phone as stolen in 46 days time so it will get blocked and locked out.

    You get to hold a stolen phone and have no money.
