HiJack this log please help

Please find below hijack this log. The laptop is not even a year old however has always appeared ridiculously slow. It is an ASUS X501U - AMD Brazos Dual Core C60 - 2GB RAM - 320 GB HDD - Win 8

Its got mcafee and defender.. try avast free instead (be sure to select the free option during installation)

disable any firefox addons/plugins - they don't show up in hijackthis logs.

backup and factory restore works best on newer machines, but try the above first, and untick the bundled chrome installation with avast

avast is good but I wouldn't think this swap will solve a slow PC. Though you can always trust closed's advice.


I would suggest 2GB RAM is not sufficient for running Windows 8 and your pc may well be under-powered for the graphics-heavy OS.


First step if no joy with Avast would be to at least double your RAM. In my (humble) opinion
