Hi all

If you test drove a car that made your right foot ( accelerator ) ache / hurt but you liked the test of the car and drive etc. would you still buy it and hope it got better or not

This was a ten minute test drive with a top mounted accelerator and I am used to bottom mounted ones.

Ps MSE this is not asking for medical advice ;)

If you can't adjust the car to suit you then walk away.

Generally a sign you are sat too close to the steering wheel. Spend some time getting the seat right and start again. With arms stretched out your wrists should be on top of the wheel and left leg should be well extended to operate the clutch.

No I wouldn't. I'd eithe investigate if the pedal can be changed for another or walk away. There are plenty of other nice cars out there.

Go for something else. It is unlikely to get better.

Many cars have the accelerator suspended from the top - those are most likely to cause issues. Others have them mounted to the floor, and those suit everyone better.

We abandoned a test drive within 10 mins of leaving the dealership recently as my wife (who would be driving the car) had the same problem. There are lots of different cars out there - find something which suits you better.

If you feel it on a test drive, imagine how bad it would be if you had to drive 200 miles in a day.

    Think again.
