Actual annual consumption in kw - anything else is just a guess

Ta, why do they offer both then ?
  • Because some people don't know their consumption in KWh, but they do know what leaves their bank account each month.

And when you look at the state that some get in when they don't know what they use, just what they pay. They then get a ginormous bill because what they pay and what they use have no direct correlation because it's been estimated for the past year or so.

If you don't know what you use in kw, then how do you know what you are paying for or if you are paying too much or too little

I submit my meter readings online regularly, at least once in a quarter and my bill is never estimated as the online system straight away generates the cost of energy the moment I submit the readings.

Likewise, although I read my meter weekly and submit a reading to the supplier monthly - I know to the £ what my bill should be.

I can also get an accurate estimate from a comparison site but even then I check the figures myself just to make sure

Everyone gets an annual useage statement, so there is no excuse not to know.

Which is often based on estimates. My annual statement covered 11 months but still used that as annual usage. A total waste of paper.
