Keep it like it is and they can share the 25 million households between them - lots to go round, don't rock the boat, just pick up your £50 per household profit guaranteed, no need to reduce operating costs at all and everyone's happy. Cushty.
This is what irks me so much - a lot of people here bemoan the idea of a nationalised energy provider but what we have now is surely worse. The only other choice to make things fair is to force competition in the private sector. How they could do this, I'm not sure.0 -
We are running out of gas so we rely on imports, the Ecoloons won't let us have fracked gas or coal, only non working windmills, so we have to import electricity.........so !!!!!! will this new nationalised energy company do?That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Buy in huge bulk and play the extractors off against each other thereby securing the best possible price? It's not rocket science. Plus plough all profits back into the infrastructure without having to give huge tax breaks to themselves lol? Invest in proper storage facilities and not just the few weeks-worth we have now? Only pay one overpaid CEO/ NO Director of Marketing/No Director of Sales? Only one CS Dept. Only one super computer (I bet one could be had for less than the £500 million paid by BG AND it would serve all of the households in the UK. Reason? No never ending numbers of tariffs). NO sales Depts NO shareholders and NO dividends. All the money generated stays in the UK etc etc. There are an absolute myriad of reasons.0
