I am posting on behalf of my other half. We, or I read the wrong thread back in late 2012 regarding ignoring everything PE send to you and even ignored the LBA which we got over 3 months ago and have just recieved the claims form from the court today with 14 days to respond to it. What is the best way forward? My other half is very worried and is chewing my ear off, saying she should of just paid up. Hopefully we are not too late to stop this?

1. You need to go to MCOL, file the Acknowledgment of Service, and request time to defend. This extends the time for filing a defence to 28 days
2. There is a useful post here by Coupon-mad (she posts as schoolrunmum on PPP)

Follow the links and you will get an idea of how to formulate a defence
3. Have you complained to the hotel? They can cancel the charge even at this late stage.
See THIS thread for success stories, including hotels, and see post 3 for advice on making a successful complaint

HTH, it's not the best way to fight a fake PCN but most of these claims never end up in an actual hearing. You need a good defence submitted in time and a very, very angry complaint made to wherever you were shopping (CEO and Store Managers).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, I am just filling in the mcol online, in part 3, I have ticked I intend to defend all of this claim. Do I also have to tick that I intend to contest jurisdiction? or is this something completly different?0

No that only applies if the registered keeper or the parking event is outside England or WalesI'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

I hope you have lodged your defence and are not just sitting back and waiting to see what happens. A lot of people have got cases cancelled recently by complaining to retail managers and by writing separately & confidently to PE to rattle their cage that you are knowledgeable about their recent losses and irregularities.
Do update your thread. Help is out there:
