OK I believe my application was submitted on Friday to the underwriters, anyone know if this is by post or mail?
they gave a 48 hour timeframe, should I call them directly on Monday and see progress? or wait for Tuesday like MA said? the wait is killing me.

The submission to the underwriters is done electronically. It goes from the processing work queue, to the underwriters work queue, where it will be looked at in strict order of receipt into the queue. (They don't pull 'urgent' ones out of the queue, because everybody's application is urgent in the eyes of the applicant.

If you've been given a 48 timeframe you should get an answer by Tuesday. It won't do any good to call the underwriters direct on Monday' as it won't put you at the top of the queue - when I worked an the mortgage application department at the Halifax, the underwriters rarely spoke to the customer - that's what the MA is there for, to interface with the customer.

  • I have still not heard from the underwriters? Should it take this long?

I noticed that you posted before 9am.

You were given a 48 hour timeframe, which more or less took you to the end of Tuesday.

Maybe the MA didn't have time to call you yesterday.

If you don't hear anything, it would be reasonable to call this afternoon
