Hello,
Some help and reassurance if possible please.
Me and my husband have recently applied for a new mortgage.
The lender is wanting an employer reference. My husband is a temp worker for an agency. At our initial meeting MA didn't mention this was needed. Today I have supplied them with 2 more weekly payslips as they are the latest. However these last two weeks the minimum
Wage increased and also he worked a day less so didn't get paid for a
Day. MA explained she couldn't calculate his Basic salary based on this today as 3 payslips had 3 different rates.
She then requested a employer ref.
I am worried now, MA said this is so she could get a basic salary. My husband called his pay office and they said MA can send over the details but payroll can't give a basic salary as he is temp. They can only give his rate of pay.
Would this be enough for the lender?
What else do they ask for?
Sorry for the rambling.
Some help and reassurance if possible please.

Does the mortgage advisor know he is a temp?
Has the mortgage advisor found a lender who will accept this?
If they have then you speak to the lender and tell them what you can get and will that do or if not what else would they accept. If you cant supply it then its a case of finding a new lender.
Without knowing a LOT more information its impossible to say. This is one of those things where you need to speak to your broker.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks for replying.
The MA knows he is a temp agency worker and it's through Halifax. She's looked into it and temp workers can get lending as long as they have been in continuous employment for more than 12 months0 -
Any mangers/ payroll experts who know what kind of info the lender asks?
My husbands payroll manger wasn't very enthusiastic when we said the bank will be sending a request. She seemed disturbed by it. The bank assured me temps can get mortgage but they need confirmation on basic salary but the payroll lady says all she can say what my hubs and rate kg pay is. Will this be enough for the bank?0 -
Can you ask them to tell the total pay over the last 12 months?0

Pretty sure if you ask the brokers on here to post the lending policy on temps as I've seen it here before.
2 yrs continuous or 12 mnts with a written guarantee 6 mnts remaining or something to the tune of that.
Thats one of the first things your advisor should have checked as its a smidgen out the ordinary.0
