Compliments card

Can anyone help please? I was given a £20 compliments card by now tv and I can't work out how to use it. The card number on the front is 19 digits and it says it is a maestro card. However, there is no start date which is needed on the website I tried it on ( whsmith ). Is this the right number as I thought card numbers were 16 digits shown as 4 lots of 4. It says it is an invalid number. I also tried it as a delta card but no luck. Perhaps they have issued an invalid card? I would like to use it as it seems a shame to lose the 20 pounds on it. It sounds like you have the same sort of card from Now TV as me (no chip and pin). If so, it is a gift card not a maestro card, and can only be used at certain places. The list is on the website shown on the back of the card.

This list shows till point only for wh smiths.

Thanks but their website shows online as well. Will see if it works on warerstones. By the way, did yours have 19 digits as well and did that work? Where?

Scroll down to whsmith and the online icon is lit. I tried it on warerstones and it appeared to go through. I haven't had an email to confirm though so can't confirm this yet.
