nexus 7 email question

in Techie Stuff
i went into the pre~installed email app on my original N7 and put in my hotmail address and password. its saying "waiting for sync" and i'm getting the spinning circle - its been doing that for AGES. there must be some problem and i dont know how to stop it! can anyone help me?

Who's your email provider? If GMail use the GMail app not email app, it rocks.
ETA...
It could be that the email client is waiting to connect with your mail provider and that that mail provider isn't answering on the standard ports so it is waiting. Or maybe it's trying to IMAP sync or POP3 download years worth of emails? All kinda hinges around who the provider is :-)0 -
The built in email app is for Gmail. Did you set up your Gmail account when you commissioned the tablet?
