Buying a new house, connecting to gas supply
We are about to complete on what will be our first home.
One of the first jobs we have is connecting it to the gas supply and installing central heating.
We obviously need to find a Gas & Electricity supplier with a good fixed price deal locked in.
Has anyone any experience of this as we could really do with organising this before the energy price hike.
Cheers

If it not connected up you will need to speak to who ever looks after the pipes in your area. This won't be the same company that supply you gas. It will be someone like National Grid, or Wales and West depending on where you live.
It will cost anything from £500 upwards to get you connected up, and will take a few months to do so, (was just over 3 months when I did it myself) so you will be after the price rises. The price can vary depending on how far away the nearest gas main is.0
