New windows don't fit... Help!

Options
Hi,

Have ordered a range of uPVC windows through a company who came today to fit them.

Three came in the wrong size. The company says the factory transcribed the measurements wrong. They didn't fit two of these but did swap one old window with a new one that was originally destined for another room as the installer measured the new window and the existing frame and thought they were the same size. They weren't, so now we've one new window in a space it doesn't fit being secured by screws with gaps filled with foam. I've been told this should be secure and watertight but obviously do not know this.

The company hopes to bring and fit new windows in a couple of weeks, which they say they're prioritising for us. So we have to be at home for another day to let them in (even though they have offered a weekend).

This was not the cheapest quote we got and so we expect good service etc. Can we reasonably request a discount for all the inconvenience. If so, what's reasonable?

Thanks,

C
