My friend and I were lucky enough to both apply for Billy Joel tickets and both get them, mine in London, hers Birmingham.
She has to have an operation so we cant make the london one.
The day the tickets went on sale I forgot my card, so bought them on a chap at works card.
I have emailed them 8 times in the last 6 weeks to try and arrange a refund or enable someone else to use the tickets. I have had one reply saying the tickets are non transferable and the card that paid for them and photo id must accompany the person to the gig and the ticket and the card holder must be one and the same.
(However the ticket holders name me and the card holders name are different, apparently this means we may not get in anyway, even though they sold us to them on a card that doesnt match the ticket buyers details???)
But all I wanted was a refund or to pass these on at cost to someone who could enjoy them. The london date sold out in minutes and people are desperate to go.
However eventim on the phone say you have to email, I've emailed 8 times with no reply.......
aaarrrggghhh any advice? I cant throw £200 away!!!

The tickets are non transferable and non refundable. What more do you need to know? Have you looked into whether you can resell via an authorised body such as viagogo?0

So even though they sold them and technically made them un usable even to me, by allowing me to use a card different to the name on the ticket, and ive given them 2 months notice, and people approach them every day for tickets, it just seems crazy, and very unfair???0

I've bought tickets through eventim for several gigs - the Ts and Cs always say the tickets are not transferable and that the card and ID must be shown etc. I have never once been asked for my payment card or ID on the doors. I've also used them to buy tickets as gifts for others and bought their tickets off other people - and it's never been a problem.
My advice is to sell them - You'll probably make a packet as lots of people (me included) wanted to go to that show but couldn't get tickets.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0
