Faulty Fridge freezer - 2 weeks for a repair !

I see your point, however as important as a fridge is in daily life, I wouldn't call one vital. A wheelchair is vital, a fridge is slightly less so.

I'd be picking up a cheap second hand one from the paper as you're unlikely to get anywhere for at least a few days, and then sell once the issue is sorted.

Unfortunately you now see the hidden cost of buying the cheapest - virtually none existent customer service.

Have a look on freecycle to see if there is anyone getting rid of a fridge or freezer to see you through. Otherwise, use a large cool box and ask friends to freeze the ice blocks for you until your own appliance is fixed.

I do sympathise, as I was without a fridge or freezer for a couple of weeks during the heatwave. It is difficult to deal with, but not impossible, even with children.

In the meantime, your contract is with the seller, not manufacturer,as others have said.

Well I phoned the seller, who basically said there as nothing they could, they have to let the manufacturer attempt a repair, and that 2 weeks was an acceptable amount of time to wait.
I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told 1 would phone me back within 4 hours. I was out for some of that 4 hours so they could have tried then, but they haven't tried since.


I have at least managed to get hold of a fridge to use whilst ours is broken.
