So much for their promise to be different from the big six. Perhaps small isn't as beautiful as we hoped.
  • Being saying for a while on here - sadly, although I'm sure they started out with the best of intentions, they have basically metamorphosed into an almost carbon copy of the Big 6. I had pretty high hopes with this one as well (been a Co-op member most of my adult life).

where do you think they buy their energy from...
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Since when have beautiful things been less expensive?

True - but I had hoped that their aim to challenge the Big 6 wouldn't make them more expensive, as they will loose customers if they are!

I thought Co-Op is about ethical, not cheapest.

So when you buy a Co-Op chicken, you are happy to pay MORE for a chicken that has grown up in a nurturing environment, went to college, raised little chicks, bungee jumped over Niagra Falls and voluntarily went to the slaughter house, having had a full and fulfilling life.

I fully expect Co-Op's "Natural Gas" to be ethically collected from flatulent OAPs, which not only reduces greenhouse gas released into the atmosphere, recycles waste, it even eliminates the need to add the gas smell to the product.
  • I have been with the co-op for about 18 months, now, but am planning to leave. However, they have made such a hodge-podge of my online statements that I am having difficulty in calculating my annual Kwh usage for submission to the cheap energy club. In addition, my online account shows me as having two electricity meters. This is because the meter reading company has an extra digit, a zero, in their records. I sent the Co-op a photograph of my meter last October, clearly showing the serial number. Nothing has been done to rectify this matter, and my concern is, that it could create problems somewhere along the line. Greatly disappointed with the way things have turned out.
In future, I shall stick to buying their chickens, which I must say are unbeatable.
