Price rises mid switch

If one has used the Cheap Energy Club and agreed to a switch to an offered deal, say a fixed price deal, and during that switch period the provider raises their prices, are you still switching to the deal at the old prices? In other words, when is the contract made: at the switch moment, or later during the process?

When the supplier confirms your application. The SSE/BG price rises announced do not however apply to fixed tariffs.
What they will do is simply close their current cheap fixes to new customers.

Yes, if a fixed deal you should get the deal offered.

SSE have said that you must opt for the fix by nov 15. After that it will be standard prices at the new rate

So presumably the old rate won't be offered after Nov 15th ;)

Are you saying SSE won't have any fixed prices after that date?
I think they will (but they might be different from todays)

As it happens, I've not got BG or SSE in mind - I'm switching between to of the other majors who haven't yet declared any increases, but that is only a matter of time, methinks!
