BA Executive Club - Blue Members Calling Tip

I recently had a problem trying to combine points from Diamond Club (earned with the fantastic BMI Amex/Visa card) to my BA Executive Club Blue Avios account (or whatever the heck it's called). Evidently, BA are just not interested when you try to tell them that their website is broken (I have sent a strongly worded complaint). Anyway, I did manage to combine my points by calling one of the 'service centres'. The only numbers that were coming up in basic searches were a horrible 0844 and a calling from abroad number. I tried the latter, but was rebuffed by BA. But then, after some extensive searching, I discovered some other numbers. For Gold, Silver and Bronze members (who, let's face it, are mostly likely the richer members) BA has kindly provided some nice 0800 numbers. But for lowly blue members, it's 0844 or nothing. Quite why they do this, I don't understand. Anyway, I called as if I were a Bronze club member (0800 597 7580) and, thankfully, the agent didn't make me redial the expensive number and dealt with my request.

In case someone else out there is going through similar turmoil, here are those numbers:
Blue 0844 493 0 747 (don't use this one)
Bronze 0800 597 7580
Silver 0800 408 0 009
Gold 0800 123 111
