Cheap car rental

Hi,
I'm going to austria next week and have booked with avis for 6 days an economy car, but I can cancel. I've used avis before and I've not had problems before, except for the fact they I think the price is always very high. I was looking at easycar and holidayautos and their prices are cheaper, about 35£. I'm just not sure of what their contracts actually cover.
can anyone give me an idea if the servive of these cheaper rentals is any different? Because if they are no-thrills, I'd rather pay the £35 to cover the "thrills"...
Thanks,

Not sure about abroad but in the UK the standard insurance excess with Avis is £600. With Easycar it has just increased from £1200 to £1400!! It's a lot to pay out if you or somebody else damages the car.
Hope you have a good holiday

I rented a car from Thrifty a few weeks ago. They explained that although the cheaper companies seem a better deal they usually take a massive deposit, the ones that I looked at online wanted £600-700. Thrifty only wanted £200. If there was accidental damage to the car then you could lose the whole deposit when you return the car. It's worth thinking about.:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0
