Update: Canon Pixma IP3000 printer - replaced the cartridges and it would only fire out BLANK paper. After cleaning, etc., started printing the colours -but not black. After lots of hassle and cleaning, print head alignment, it will print but the characters are "fuzzy" and slightly lined. Is this the print head? How can I overcome this? Someone here suggested using meths - but where? How do I remove the printhead? Any advice very much appreciated.

Hi WTFH, thanks for your replies and video link. I removed the print head and used some isopropyl alcohol as someone said that this was better to use than meyhs and gently cleaned the heads. Guess what -thought I'd b*****ed it completely. Anyway, today I have removed the head and gently soaked the head in warm water, not flushed under running water. Result: now prints -but not perfect. I shall persevere and let you know the results. But many thanks for your help.0
