Need to switch and fix advice please
Im with Scottish power for gas and electricity. Im on an online std tariff fixed until Jan 14. Should i switch and lock in to avoid all the hikes?? If so, who to??? I enter all my details on a comparison site but it says im on the cheapest HOWEVER thats based on the standard price being £99 a month yet i get charged £140 a month..... So im obviously using more than they estimate so how do i get a cheaper deal to avoid hikes if im apparently already on the cheapest?? (which im obviously not)

To get accurate comp site results you need to use your annual kWh totals, not your monthly DD figure. What matters is the annual cost, not your monthly DD amount
Your monthly DD figure has no connection to your annual consumption, as you may be in credit or debit (in your case, it looks like you are in debit, and so your DD has been hiked by £41 pm to recover the debt.
Since Standard tariff is always the most expensive, you are certainly not on the cheapest tariff. No free lunch, and no free laptop
