Credit Card & Reserving Hotel Rooms

I've booked a holiday and used my credit card to reserve hotels along my driving route in the US.
Unfortunately I've lost my Credit Card. No Probs. Got a new one.
However the rooms I've reserved have the old number.
Could I lose my reservation between now and going later in the year - as in - will the hotels recheck the credit card?

why not e-mail/fax/call the hotel with the new numberIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0
