I am looking to switch my Gas from British Gas to a fixed tariff from npower on uswitch it should save me a fair bit. Is it just a case of contacting Npower and they do the rest?. Or do I have to contact BG and say I am leaving. I have only been moved into my new home a few months and don't want to be cut off if there is a !!!! up etc.

Hello dexterwolf,
You need to contact the new supplier to say you are wanting to sign up to them and then they will contact your existing supplier and take over from them. Some price comparison sites do this for you.
It was a few days ago that you posted this, if you have already done the above I can check the progress of your account for you if you want to send me your details to the email address on my profile page.
Thanks
Carmel
