duty free cigars California holiday

Hello
I leave for California on Sunday and I'm really looking forward to it.
If anyone can answer a question about cigars for my brother I'll be grateful.
If I see what I think he'll like at Terminal 3 Heathrow on my way out, will it be OK to buy them (50 if allowed) there, keep them safely unopened in my luggage and bring them back to the UK without any problems? (I would prefer to buy them 'early' then I know I've got them!)
Thank you for any advice

Do not attempt to do this with Cuban cigars, I made that mistake once myself, it was an expensive mistake I will not be repeating again :embarasse:embarasse0

Thanks DTDfanBoy. My brother only smokes on special occasions and I've seen him with a Villiger cigar. To be on the safe side I'll ask when I am buying to make sure they are not Cuban . Apart from Cuban is what I have in mind allowed, please?

I'm not too sure to be honest I'm sure they will have the restrictions posted on one of their GOV websites. I was only in transit, I ended up going via the US instead of my preferred route via Singapore and got stung
My only advise would to be to brace yourself for the entry process, it's easily my least favourite in the entire world.0
