I don't think you'll find anything that can really do that very well, usb is very slow and limited bandwidth compared to what is needed for a display.
The best you might find is some form of USB videocard or laptop port replicator that has some basic video functions (I've got one that can just about drive a 1024x 768 vga display).
What outputs does your PC have?
If it has DVI (most will), all you need is a DVI to HDMI cable and you should be able to connect it up to the TV fine (most videocards in the past 5 years have a pair of outputs at least).
You can buy a DVI to hdmi cable from about a fiver for a couple of meters (you'll also want to run a cable for sound if you want that from the TV as well)..
If not and it has no other video outputs you can probably pick up a cheap videocard to either replace your current one, or in addition to it to give you two outputs (one for your normal monitor, and one for your TV). You can pick up such videocards from about £30 new for a basic one.
[edit]
A new basic pci-express videocard is about £25 for an AMD 5450 card - they're pretty poor for anything but video/browing and very basic games, but have DVI, HDMI and VGA.0 -
You can get usb to hdmi, but the pc has to have usb 3. Or use a wireless adapter.
But as said above, if it is a pc, then a simple cheap graphics cardMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
what do you want to feed into your telly?
you can only get a video signal to your TV from a video output. You can't just go plugging cables between a computer and monitor and hope it knows what it's supposed to do.0 -

But I can from my laptop that has a HDMI output socket on it. I would like the ability to do the same with my PC for whatever reason I wish, Like !!!!!! on a 52" screen is better than my PC monitor.
An answer to the question as posted above by the other two posters was far more helpful so to them I thank. For your useless intervention with nothing really to asist in my query, the big cliff to go throw yourself off of is somewhere across there

Amazon do one for £19, not going to get amazing graphics from it, but if just to stream video to TV, then absolutely fine.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

your laptop has an HDMI connector which is for sending a video signal, a USB connector isn't for sending video signals.
Although I must apologise for giving you the correct information to your query and please accept my most insincere apologies just because it wasn't the answer you were looking for.0 -

Really?
Before the car was invented had you asked someone what they would have said a faster horse not a car, to paraphrase the alleged quote from Henry Ford. When someone asks for a specific solution it is normally much better to find out what problem they are trying to solve than simply trot out where they can get that solution.
Evidently you are not a computing genius and therefore the best answer to date has been scheming_gypsy's question to try and ascertain what you are trying to achieve & why. It could well be that a wireless solution may be better for your needs and depending on what kit you have it may already be there for you and so you dont need anything.
With your increadably rude and childish response however I doubt anyone would bother to help you.0 -
Some of the posters here don't seem to have noticed that it's now 2013.
USB3 to HDMI is now well established tech.
To the OP: If your PC has DVI output to the monitor, then you can use a simple converter as they're (more or less) the same connector.

You may or may not get audio though, depends on the PC and TV - that's the 'less' bit
If you have USB3 then you can use a converter.

But a new graphics card with an HDMI output is the best option.0 -
I know what year it is, but the converter isn't so much a converter but a USB external graphics card, which for a desktop PC is an expensive way to do it - unless you've no internal slots available... So like your last line, a new graphics card is the best way.0
