Samsung Washing Machines

As Zanussi Washing Machine has given up the ghost ( Faulty circuit board) after under 3 years below average use (as posted on another forum), we are now looking to purchase a new washing machine which carries a good warranty. We notice at the moment Samsung are offering an extended free 5 year warranty covering both labour and parts, which makes it look very attractive propostion for us. If they are willing to offer that length warranty they must have faith in their product. Has anyone got a Samsung washing machine and what is your experience. I normally associate the Samsung brand with televisions. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Hi
We've got a samung washing machine. We've only had a few months but so far seems good. We got one with 1400 spin speed and clothes definately come out dryer so less drying needed.

Hi we have owned samsung wf8602ngw washing machine for just under 12months been ok not fantastic for about 6months but started to smell of bad eggs over the last 6 months, even after cleaning pump filter and flushing machine on hot cycle, also checked waste pipe outlet inc. anti syphon valve, also replaced extension waste pipe for shorter hose in case that was cause of bad eggy water smell, the smell is really bad when checking pump filter! also the length of wash programs are 10 to 15 mins longer than whats displayed, spoke with Samsung & Tesco customer service, Tesco sent engineer out 2day he said nothing wrong with machine, even tho really bad eggy pong coming again from pump filter inspection sump, engineer said just keep flushing out machine on empty hot wash frequently, also Samsung basically said the same, said to have less clothing in machine this will reduce length of wash program, it does not still 15mins longer even with small amount of clothing in machine, i feel I've been fobbed off by Tesco,Samsung and engineer! have been searching on-line 2 c if any1 else has had similar problems but so far have found no similar problems from other washing machine customers.

Also consider the LG direct drive washing machines. Long warranty on the motor and very quiet during operation.

  • We are considering purchasing a Samsung washing machine but the reviews seem mixed. The smell of bad eggs mentioned is a tad off putting. Ont the other hand the 5 year manufacturers extended warranty looks attractive though. Smasung is still in the running together with a Bosch and LG to be our new addition in the next week. A little more research than a decision must be reached.

You can purchase a Samsung Washing machine which offers a free labour and parts extended 5 year warranty. Currys is selling one at £399 and John Lewis at £419. If you want 5 years, without any bills for call outs and parts, is your priority this seems a good deal for the money. Some credit cards schemes like the NatWest Advantage Gold may offer you an additional free year in addition making a total of 6 years.

  • Our Zanussi Washing machine gave uo the ghost in under 3 years. We have now just purchased and are awaiting delivery of a Samsung Washing machine. We were enticed by the 5 year free extended warrantiy and some good reviews. We will have to wait and see if it is a wise decision. At very worst we will have 5 years without any call out charges and repair bills.Out total cost was for the new machine was £399 including delivery

We have a one year old Samsung Ecobubble washer dryer. Not massively impressed with it. It tends to eat small clothes (socks etc) so we've had to get a special bag for those. Or they get caught inside the lip of the door and don't dry properly. It's also ripped a few items - baby vests in particular but also one of the straps from my top. Wouldn't buy another one.

We too have a Samsung Eco bubble and we find it very noisy. The 15 min wash is good and just over one hour for the daily wash cycle, but because of the noise I wouldn't recommend it.
