Panic-ESA want money back-Advice please

According to my mortgage provider, I would have been eligible for £360 in SMI or thereabouts. I am sure the JC knew I was on health insurance but I need to see a copy of the forms to know for sure- I got help doing them so I am sure they must show that payment. My mortgage is £120K.
In that case your PHI will exceed your eligible benefits so your ESA will stop. With regard to the over payment they will write it off if it is an official error and you could not reasonably have known it was an error. You're going to need to get the original form to see what was submitted.0 -
You will also need to speak to your local authority as your council tax support will also be affected. Sorry

The JC knew when you put inyour claim for SMI or when you put in your claim for ESA.0 -
I don't get council tax benefit. I believe Council Tax benefit was stopped (for everyone) in April.jacques_chirac wrote: »You will also need to speak to your local authority as your council tax support will also be affected. Sorry
Yes, I must find the original application form. Hopefully that will answer all questions ad get me out of immediate panic stations. Then the challenge will be how to get back on top of my mortgage and keep my house. Pretty crappy state of affairs-very depressing.

CTB was renamed council tax support. You posted in June that you were receiving it?0 -
OK. I don't think I do but my memory has been seriously affected by the medication I take, so I will check!"To exercise power costs effort and demands courage." Oscar Wilde

I just got a call from the advice centre to say that in the notes on the file from the person who helped me fill out the form, there was a note saying that I was getting PHI. I wont know for sure until Monday when that advisor is back, but I feel slightly relieved, at least with reference to the potential repayment.
I still have a struggle ahead of me to afford living off such a low income with such a high mortgage and high debts. But one way or another I will live....."To exercise power costs effort and demands courage." Oscar Wilde

Have you thought about selling your house and moving to a smaller property?Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0 -
Yes, I had thought about this, but I am single and skint, and the very thought of trying to pack up by myself to move is overwhelming. Plus, because of my current finances, I would never get another mortgage. My credit is wrecked because I had more outgoings than income so I had no choice but debt.
I know selling would help clear that but the thought of never owning my own house again is terrifying. I am thinking of letting out my spare room.
I can't believe that the job centre reckons it could take 2 months for them to find the original forms. Meanwhile I am struggling to eat or sleep."To exercise power costs effort and demands courage." Oscar Wilde

Do you also need your car if you don't get out much? Especially if you can't afford to maintain it? Could you get something out of it?0
