I have a logitech wireless mouse which was used with my desk top. This is now no more and I'm using an HP laptop a friend sold me.
I'd like to use my mouse with the laptop.
How do I do that?
(the instructions for the mouse cannot be found)
Thanks to anyone who can give some tips or instructions (v simple please!)

When you bought the mouse, you probably bought a little USB transmitter which will still be plugged into the desktop. Plug that into the laptop and it should work (I assume you've checked the batteries are OK)1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
yes batteries are ok but desk top is no more - can the transmitter be bought separately or should I just get a new mouse?0

I doubt if you'll be able to get a transmitter seperately, and if you find one, it will probably be about the same price as a new mouse.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

There will either be a smal USB thingy or a box with a wire which plugs into the mouse socket - either of these probably still connected to the desktop. If it's a box-type, there should be a small button on the bottom (underside) of the mouse - this is to synch the two (see later).
If it's USB dongle, you should just be able to move it to the laptop.
If it's a box, plug into the laptop (if it has a mouse port...), press and hold the button on the box, then press the button under the mouse and release both - this should sych them**.
**This is from memory - if it doesn't work, try press/release the box button, then press/release the mouse button.
[edit] belatedly noticed 'desktop no more' - possible if it was a box-type one, could be in a drawer somewhere? (if you had several cables and stuff connected to the desktop, could have just bundled them up..?).0
