twitter signing in problem

Not sure if this is the right site but here goes:
Had no problems with `twitter` until yesterday
Go to sign in which I do but it still tells me to sign in so eventually I did the `forgotten password` route but it tell me I am already `signed in`.
Tried the help button but tells me I have to `sign in`, which of course I cannot.
Would appreciate any help. Thanks

How are you connecting to Twitter?
Is it through a smartphone app, or via a website (or some other way)?

If it's through a web browser, try clearing the cache, for a smartphone app, just try closing the app down, then reboot the phone.

I am connected through IE on a desktop.
I have cleared my cache and used `system restore` thinking that might help but it did not.
I am able to access my twitter account on my laptop so I am assuming that the problem is with my desktop computer but still do not know what to do.
