Npower removing dual fuel discount

Hi guys

I've just switched to Npower through the cheap energy club. Just over one week into my new supply I have received a letter from Npower saying that they are now removing my £10 dual fuel discount!!

However, they say that they are reducing my gas standing charge by £10 so I will not be affected financially.

Have other people received this letter? Normally, I'd assume that my outgoings won't change so I'd think no more of it but I'm a bit suspicious of Npower given that I've just joined and they are already changing things. Trying to decide whether to pull out of the contract and go elsewhere if this is what's going to keep happening!

However, if what they say is true and I won't be out of pocket then I might stick with them.

Just a bit miffed! Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

Its problem to do with Ofgem. I know they have or changing the way they yearly discount is being applied.

In this case (unusually) I support Ofgem. Fair enough that discounts have to be applied monthly or as you go. In npower's favour they are maintaining the £105 (or is it now £95? or £94.50 because of VAT? or £95.50?) Whichever. At least they are keeping their flat rate discount rather than switching to a percentage of usage.
