Hi all, am after some advice please.... I recently won a like and share competition on Facebook for a "Brand New Imac"....The prize I received was a reconditioned model (at least 5 years old). The company has offered me £100 compensation, and removed all evidence of the competition from their Facebook wall. Is this worth pursuing with the IPM and ASA or will I be wasting my time ?? Would love to hear back from anyone that experienced anything similar. Thanks.

Anniemee I would 100% take it Edwin Mutton at the IPM, I am assuming that the offer of compensation was in writing?, if so include that in the email to him
If it was offered as a brand new Imac then imo that is what you should be gettingJuly 2015 Wins- Shaun The Sheep Goody Bag, 4x Books

Thanks, yes I have an e-mail offering the £100 compensation.. Along with screenshots from the Facebook page taken before all evidence of the competition was removed..0

Is it possible to know the name of the place which was offering an iMac on your like and share.
I'm always doubtful of places offering 'brand-new' iMacs as even the lower spec ones go for £1000 at least.
Hope something can be sorted. xxDecember Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0 -

I've used the online small claims for something else and it was easy, only costs £25 too which is paid by the other side should you win

I think before you actually go to court you'll need to send a "letter before action," giving the company 14 days to respond.
